Denver, Colorado USA, September 10, 2019 – Digital Water Works, a leading global innovator of digital twin solutions for smart wet infrastructure, today announced that Dr. Paul F. Boulos, its Chief Executive Officer, will preside over the Diplomate Induction Ceremony of the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) at the ASCE Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI) PORTS conference on September 17, 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA. Boulos will also present the inaugural Outstanding Practitioner Award and Service to the Academy Award and preside over the 10th Anniversary Honorary Dinner on September 16. Boulos will be accompanied by Ram Pratti, the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

ACOPNE was created by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and COPRI to improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the profession of coastal, ocean, port and navigation engineering (COPNE). Key ACOPNE goals are to identify and board certify highly qualified professional engineers with extensive specialized knowledge in COPNE for the benefit of the public; recognize the ethical practice of COPNE at the expert level; enhance the practice of COPNE; support and promote positions on COPNE issues important to the public health, safety and welfare; and encourage life-long learning and continued professional development.

“Board certification is the highest level of advanced post-licensure certification offered in the engineering profession for professional engineers (P.E.),” said Boulos. “It is also much more than a distinguished professional achievement. It brings with it a strong sense of responsibility to the community we live and work in, a commitment to optimizing the engineering solutions we develop and maximizing the benefits our work provides, and a sense of belonging and contributing to our noble COPNE profession. It takes a concerted investment and serious commitment to reach this milestone and join the elite group of ACOPNE Diplomates. I extend my congratulations to the 2019 board certified ACOPNE diplomates and the inaugural award recipients. I am very proud to be a member of this noble profession and to serve as ACOPNE President and Chairman of its Board of Trustees.”

Boulos is a Distinguished Diplomate of ACOPNE, the Academy’s highest honor and a Distinguished Member of ASCE, the Society’s highest honor and the Hall of Fame of civil engineering.
